The environmental management system aggregates what has always been tradition in the  CD/DVD factory in a compact and standardised manner, i.e.

		easing environmental stress through careful use of resources
		recycling as an integral element of the company
		advanced waste and hazardous substance management
		conformity with statutory and official conditions.

EDC can prove that it is the only CD factory in the world which produces new polycarbonate with a high visual quality from polycarbonate residue from the production process and from CDs from our own unsold stocks. This is fed to the CD manufacturing process again. For instance, in 2004 around 320 tons of polycarbonate was recycled.

In the same way around 500 tons of polystyrene are recycled each year from our own unsold stocks and used for the in-house production of jewel boxes.
